India Data & Analytics: Who Delivers Value, Who Charges for a Name

…and what it means for your next negotiation.

TL;DR. We independently assessed ninety-nine India-based Data & Analytics firms on rate and delivery quality. The correlation between price and quality is just 0.47 — paying more gets you better output barely half the time. The market’s best values come from unexpected places, and two Big 4 firms land in our lowest-value quadrant.

We independently assessed ninety-nine India-based Data & Analytics firms on rate intelligence and scored them on delivery quality — talent input, delivery track record, organizational capability, retention, domain depth, and risk. No supplier participated, was consulted, or paid for inclusion. This is less than half of our full dataset: Holmes tracks over two hundred firms for this category alone.

The findings challenge assumptions most procurement teams hold. The four highest-value suppliers are all boutique specialists. Every Big 4 firm and every WITCH firm delivers less value per dollar than the top boutique. Roughly one in ten firms scores below our quality threshold.
